Elbit Systems secures $350M international contract for tank upgrades

Elbit Systems (NASDAQ:ESLT) was awarded a contract valued at approximately $350 million from an international customer to deliver comprehensive modernization packages for Main Battle Tanks.

The defense technology program is structured to be executed over a four-year period.

Under the terms of the agreement, the company will modernize key onboard platforms to extend the service life and significantly improve the combat readiness of the client's armored fleet.

The mid-life upgrade package comprises advanced fire control systems, electric gun and turret drive systems, as well as an integrated suite for digital communication and situational awareness.

A central element of the technical modernization includes the deployment of lightweight, high-performance electro-optical sights.

These systems feature artificial intelligence capabilities designed to optimize day and night observation alongside automated target detection and tracking.

The contract also integrates a secure, high-capacity voice communication suite to enhance battlefield connectivity.

Beyond hardware and software installation, the multi-year program covers the long-term logistical lifecycle of the upgraded vehicles.

Elbit Systems will supply necessary spare parts and provide ongoing maintenance and technical support to maintain operational availability throughout the deployment cycle.
