  • Financial terms were not disclosed, while Data I/O shares closed at $1.86 after the announcement.
  • Data I/O said the deal would expand its control over security provisioning technology and manufacturing solutions.

Data I/O (NASDAQ:DAIO) signed a non-binding letter of intent to acquire embedded software security intellectual property and related assets from IAR, including Embedded Trust, Secure Deploy, the eSecIP toolchain and certificate authority infrastructure.

The proposed transaction follows Data I/O’s February 2026 integration of IAR’s embedded software security capabilities with its PSV programming systems as companies respond to increasing cybersecurity requirements.

The assets included in the proposed transaction cover software, source code, hardware, intellectual property, engineering infrastructure, manufacturing equipment and certifications, with Data I/O expected to assume customer support responsibilities after closing.

Data I/O said the acquisition would extend its offering from embedded design through high-volume manufacturing.

Data I/O provides programming and security solutions for electronic devices, supporting industries that require secure semiconductor and embedded system manufacturing processes.

The company said it plans to maintain its commercial relationship with IAR while continuing to develop solutions aligned with cybersecurity standards, including the European Union Cyber Resilience Act.
