Codexis expands siRNA synthesis collaboration

• Codexis signed an agreement with an unnamed siRNA drug developer to evaluate stereo-defined fragment synthesis using its ECO Synthesis platform.
• The collaboration will compare enzymatically produced fragments with conventional solid-phase synthesis methods for quality and performance.

Codexis (NASDAQ:CDXS) signed an agreement with an unnamed siRNA drug developer to explore stereo-defined fragment synthesis using its ECO Synthesis platform.

The collaboration will use Codexis’ enzymatic process to produce siRNA fragments that the developer will combine into a final two-strand molecule for evaluation.

The companies will compare enzymatically produced fragments with those made through conventional solid-phase synthesis, assessing purity, product quality, and the ability of the fragments to assemble into final molecules.

Codexis develops enzyme-based technologies for pharmaceutical and biotechnology applications, including processes designed to improve the production of complex molecules.

The company said it previously demonstrated full-length siRNA synthesis with control over phosphorothioate stereochemistry using its StereoSelect capability at TIDES USA 2026.
