Coca-Cola halts Fairlife production after ransomware attack

Coca-Cola (NYSE:KO) suspended Fairlife’s U.S. production on July 16 after ransomware-related access to its production systems.

Coca-Cola said product safety was unaffected, while Fairlife’s Canadian production continued operating normally.

“The full scope, nature and impacts of the incident are not yet known,” Coca-Cola said.

The company activated response protocols, hired external cybersecurity specialists, notified law enforcement and began restoring affected systems.

Following the announcement, Coca-Cola's share price was down 2.12% at $83.12.

Coca-Cola acquired Fairlife’s remaining ownership in 2020, increasing its stake from 42.5% to 100%.

Coca-Cola paid a $6.173 billion final Fairlife milestone in March 2025 under the acquisition’s performance-linked terms.
