Caterpillar (NYSE:CAT) reported second-quarter sales and revenues of $20.5 billion, up 24%, marking its first quarter above $20 billion.

Revenue exceeded analysts’ $19.34 billion estimate, while adjusted EPS of $8.17 topped the $6.20 consensus forecast.

Operating profit increased 50% to $4.30 billion as higher sales volume contributed $3.1 billion and favourable pricing added $595 million.

Following the announcement, Caterpillar's share price was up 2% at $830.03 in premarket trading, while the company raised its 2026 revenue outlook.

Enterprise operating cash flow reached $4.4 billion, while Caterpillar returned $2.2 billion through $1.5 billion in buybacks and $700 million in dividends.

Construction Industries sales rose 35%, Power & Energy increased 17% and Resource Industries grew 20%, while backlog reached a record $72.1 billion.
