Parents Push Teens to Start Investing Earlier Than They Did

Bloomberg's Josyana Joshua joins Scarlet Fu and Tom Keene on "Bloomberg Money." Many parents are opening accounts that let teens learn the basics of investing with their supervision, in hopes of teaching them about investing early. As a result, financial firms have noticed and are rolling out products designed to appeal to parents and teens, such as joint brokerage accounts and parental-managed accounts that invest in exchange-traded funds.

BlackSun Raises $1 Billion for New Sports and Media Fund

Antonn Muhammed, CEO of private equity firm Blacksun, said that his firm believes in 'compassionate capitalism' in their work and aim to provide services for everyone as well as investors. Muhammed was joined by former boxing world champion Roy Jones Jr., who leads BlackSun's boxing group 'Knockout Fights.' Jones said that their new venture includes important physical and financial protections for athletes in a dangerous sport.

Trump Doubles Down on Push for Lower Rates After Strong Jobs Report

Liz Pancotti, vice president of policy, advocacy and research at progressive advocacy group Groundwork Collaborative, said that if Trump wants lower interest rates, he should stop his war in Iran and reverse his tariffs, which will bring prices down. Pancotti said that high costs are showing up even in the push to onshore manufacturing and build data centers, as materials like lumber or aluminum are subject to tariffs.
