Carlyle (NASDAQ:CG) agreed to sell Copia Power, a U.S. developer, owner and operator of integrated energy and digital infrastructure campuses, to EQT Infrastructure VII, with the transaction expected to close by the end of 2026.

The deal comes as infrastructure investors increase focus on projects combining electricity generation, transmission capacity and data center facilities, with Copia developing assets designed to support growing digital infrastructure demand.

“We are excited to partner with Copia Power and its management team as the company continues developing integrated energy and digital infrastructure projects,” said EQT Infrastructure VII.

Copia has more than 2.6 GW of energy generation and storage capacity operating or under construction, while its development pipeline includes more than 9 GW of grid-connected data centers, supported by over 25 GW of solar and storage assets and 7 GW of natural gas assets.

EQT said the acquisition will expand its U.S. AI infrastructure portfolio and support Copia’s management team in scaling the platform and accelerating development projects.

Carlyle acquired Copia Power in 2022 as part of its investment strategy focused on energy transition, infrastructure and growth sectors, while Copia has continued building projects that combine power resources with large-scale digital infrastructure.
