
Buenaventura posts strong quarter as profit climbs to $260.6M

Compañía de Minas Buenaventura (NYSE:BVN) reported second-quarter 2026 net income of $260.6 million, compared with $98.2 million in the prior-year quarter, as gold production increased during the period.
EBITDA from direct operations rose to $277.1 million from $130.1 million, while gold production increased 12% year over year, supported mainly by the ramp-up of the San Gabriel operation.
Silver production increased 2%, while copper production rose 2%, although lead and zinc production declined 19% and 5%, respectively, due mainly to lower grades at Tambomayo.
For the first six months of 2026, EBITDA from direct operations reached $663.4 million compared with $256.4 million in the same period of 2025, while net income increased to $557 million.
Buenaventura ended June 30, 2026 with $758.9 million in cash and a net cash position of $66.6 million, while receiving $117.5 million in dividends from its ownership interest in Cerro Verde after quarter-end.
