Brown-Forman Corporation (NYSE:BFA, NYSE:BFB) reported fiscal first-quarter 2027 net sales of $911 million, down 1% year over year, while diluted earnings per share increased to $0.38.
The sales decline was driven by the end of the Korbel relationship, lower used barrel sales, and weaker tequila portfolio performance, partially offset by growth in the Ready-to-Drink portfolio.
Brown-Forman reported operating income of $252 million, down 3% on a reported basis but up 4% organically, while gross margin expanded 40 basis points, operating cash flow increased by $13 million to $173 million, and free cash flow rose by $32 million to $161 million.
Brown-Forman reported fiscal first-quarter diluted earnings per share of $0.38.
Brown-Forman produces and markets alcoholic beverage brands, including whiskey, tequila, and Ready-to-Drink products across global markets.
The company reported flat whiskey sales, a 20% increase in Ready-to-Drink portfolio sales, a 12% decline in tequila sales, and a 35% decline in the rest of its portfolio due partly to the end of the Korbel relationship.
