Boeing secures eight-aircraft order from Uganda Airlines

• Boeing announced its first-ever order from Uganda Airlines at the Farnborough event in the United Kingdom.
• The African carrier committed to purchasing four 737-8 and four 787-9 aircraft to renew and expand its fleet.
• The new fleet will support network growth while delivering an estimated 20% to 25% reduction in fuel consumption.

Boeing (NYSE:BA) announced that Uganda Airlines has officially placed its first Boeing order for eight new aircraft.

The agreement, unveiled on July 21, 2026, at the Farnborough event in the United Kingdom, includes four 737-8 and four 787-9 jets.

Uganda Airlines executed the purchase to actively renew its existing fleet and expand its international route network.

The 737-8 aircraft will be deployed to serve intra-Africa routes as well as flights to the Middle East and India.

Meanwhile, the larger 787-9 aircraft will support the carrier's long-haul destinations across the Middle East, Asia, and Europe.

Boeing noted that the combined fleet acquisition will enable broader strategic network growth for the national carrier.

The modern aircraft are expected to reduce overall fuel use by an estimated 20% to 25% when compared with the older generation aircraft they will replace.
