
Boeing secures 100 aircraft order from SMBC

Boeing (NYSE:BA) announced that SMBC Aviation Capital ordered 100 737 MAX airplanes to expand its commercial leasing portfolio.
The purchase agreement comprises 60 737-10 jets and 40 737-8 aircraft ordered during the Farnborough aviation event.
This transaction represents the first 737-10 order for the lessor and the largest purchase of the variant by a leasing company.
The manufacturer stated the 737-10 jet features a 3,100-nautical-mile range and a capacity of up to 230 passengers.
Following the announcement, Boeing's share price was down at $215.95.
This agreement lifts the total owned, managed, and committed 737 MAX portfolio for SMBC Aviation Capital to 450 jets.
Aircraft lessors have now ordered more than 1,450 737 MAX jets, representing approximately 20% of the overall program backlog.
