Boeing (NYSE:BA) reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of $24.6 billion, marking an 8% increase compared to the prior-year period.
The top-line growth was primarily driven by the delivery of 171 commercial airplanes during the quarter.
Despite the revenue increase, the company posted a GAAP loss per share of ($0.67) and a core loss per share (non-GAAP) of ($0.76), with GAAP earnings from operations totaling $156 million.
Following the results, Boeing shares rose 1.2% in early market activity as revenue topped Wall Street estimates.
The company's total backlog expanded to a record $715 billion, anchored by over 6,200 commercial airplanes.
Across its core business segments, Commercial Airplanes reported $11.8 billion in revenue with a negative 2.7% operating margin.
The Defense, Space & Security segment posted $7.5 billion in revenue and a negative 0.2% margin, which included $280 million of losses on the VC-25B program.
The Global Services segment delivered the strongest margins, recording $5.3 billion in revenue with an 18.1% operating margin.
Boeing generated strong liquidity metrics, posting $1.4 billion in operating cash flow and $0.6 billion in free cash flow (non-GAAP).
The company ended the quarter with $20.0 billion in cash and marketable securities and $45.9 billion in consolidated debt.
