  • BioLineRx and Hemispherian announced strong preclinical synergy combining oncology candidate GLIX1 with the PARP inhibitor olaparib.
  • The combined low-dose therapeutic regimen achieved localized tumor reduction comparable to standard platinum-based cisplatin treatments.
  • The development partners plan to add an expansion arm targeting ovarian cancer to their active Phase 1/2a clinical infrastructure.

BioLineRx (NASDAQ:BLRX) and Hemispherian reported positive preclinical data from a patient-derived ovarian cancer xenograft model showing a strong therapeutic synergy between its small-molecule candidate GLIX1 and the approved PARP inhibitor olaparib.

The low-dose combination regimen achieved substantially improved anti-tumor efficacy compared to standard control groups and independent monotherapies without introducing overlapping toxicity penalties.

"The pronounced synergy observed with olaparib indicates that GLIX1 could become a valuable therapeutic option for patients facing difficult-to-treat gynecological malignancies," the company stated in its research directory.

The robust tumor reduction markers matched the therapeutic baseline established by heavy chemotherapy agent cisplatin while preserving a much cleaner physiological tolerability profile in the evaluated models.

Following the announcement, BioLineRx's share price was down at $2.74.

The operational partners intend to leverage these positive laboratory findings to formally append a dedicated ovarian cancer patient cohort to their ongoing Phase 1/2a clinical study.

The primary human trial framework is concurrently examining the metabolic mechanisms of the therapeutic compound inside advanced glioblastoma multiforme brain tumor clinical settings.
