Biohaven (NYSE:BHVN) and Yale University announced a favorable verdict from a federal jury in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware regarding their ongoing litigation against Avilar Therapeutics and RA Capital.

The jury determined that both Avilar Therapeutics and RA Capital willfully and maliciously misappropriated a proprietary trade secret originating from Yale University.

The intellectual property in question is related to the MODA targeted protein degradation platform.

Furthermore, the jury concluded that RA Capital separately breached a 2019 confidentiality agreement it held with Yale.

Reflecting recent market activity, Biohaven's share price traded near $14.32.

As a result of the findings, the jury awarded a total of $4 million in damages to the plaintiffs.

This total includes a $2 million award to Yale specifically for the breach of contract.

Additionally, the jury awarded $1 million to Yale and another $1 million to Biohaven as compensation for the trade secret misappropriation.
