Eisai models ¥300 billion in potential Leqembi sales for fiscal year 2028
BioArctic announced that its long-term development and commercialization partner, Eisai, has presented an updated financial simulation outlining the growth trajectory for their co-developed Alzheimer’s disease treatment, Leqembi (lecanemab).
During its Investor Relations Day presentation, Eisai disclosed a model indicating that global sales of the amyloid-beta directing monoclonal antibody are simulated to reach approximately JPY 300 billion (equivalent to roughly SEK 17.6 billion) for fiscal year 2028.
The fiscal period finishes at the end of March 2029.
BioArctic issued the market notification in compliance with disclosure requirements mandated under the EU Market Abuse Regulation framework.
The modeled multi-year revenue target reflects an anticipated acceleration in patient adoption curves, following a historically measured roll-out since Leqembi's initial regulatory entries in 2023.
The pharmaceutical partners are banking on structural transformations in the clinical pathway to clear treatment bottlenecks.
Growth models are heavily leveraged against the global expansion of more accessible treatment formulations, including subcutaneous auto-injectors currently under priority regulatory review in major markets.
Leqembi is presently approved in 53 countries to slow disease progression in adults navigating early Alzheimer's disease, with formal regulatory reviews ongoing in six additional jurisdictions.
Under the terms of the baseline strategic research alliance between the two companies, BioArctic retains rights to commercialize the biologic in the Nordic region while remaining entitled to milestone payments and tiered royalties on global sales executed by Eisai.
