Baidu (NASDAQ:BIDU) and Uber Technologies (NYSE:UBER) announced today, February 10, 2026, the next phase of their global strategic partnership: the launch of Apollo Go autonomous ride-hailing on the Uber platform in Dubai.
In collaboration with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the service is scheduled to begin pilot operations next month, initially available to riders in select Jumeirah locations.
Under the agreement, Uber users in the designated service areas will have the option to be matched with a fully driverless Apollo Go vehicle when booking UberX or Uber Comfort trips, or by selecting a new "Autonomous" category within the app.
The fleet will feature Baidu’s sixth-generation RT6 vehicles, equipped with over 40 sensors and redundant safety systems.
This deployment serves as a cornerstone for Dubai’s "Autonomous Transportation Strategy," which aims to convert 25% of all transportation trips in the emirate to autonomous modes by 2030.
The expansion into Dubai marks the first major international integration of Apollo Go into the Uber ecosystem since the two companies signed a multi-year global agreement last July.
For Baidu, the move leverages its massive operational data—over 240 million autonomous kilometers logged and 17 million cumulative rides—while providing an immediate path to commercialization outside of mainland China.
