Atkore divests Belgian surface protection units to ZINQ in strategic portfolio shift

Atkore (NYSE:ATKR), a global leader in electrical manufacturing, today announced the sale of its surface protection and powder coating business in Belgium to ZINQ, a prominent European specialist in surface technology.

The transaction includes the divestiture of two key brands: Vergo Galva and Vergo Coating.

The move is a central component of Atkore’s broader portfolio optimization strategy.

By offloading these specialized coating units, the company aims to concentrate resources on its high-growth electrical infrastructure solutions, particularly those serving the commercial, industrial, data center, and solar sectors.

As part of the agreement, ZINQ will take over the Vergo Galva facility in Kruisem and the Vergo Coating facility in Mouscron.

For ZINQ, which operates more than 50 locations across Europe, the acquisition expands its technical footprint and service capabilities in the Belgian market.

Despite the sale, Atkore will maintain a significant presence in the region.

The company will continue to own and operate its manufacturing facility in Oudenaarde, Belgium.

This site remains critical to the production of metal framing and cable support systems, which will continue to be marketed under the established Atkore Vergokan brand.

While the financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, the divestiture aligns with Atkore's disciplined approach to capital allocation and its goal of streamlining operations to support its most profitable core segments.

The transaction is expected to have a minimal impact on Atkore’s consolidated fiscal 2026 outlook while providing immediate operational clarity.
