Arvinas starts ARV-6723 cancer trial
- Arvinas dosed the first participant in a Phase 1/2 trial of ARV-6723, its first clinical immuno-oncology candidate.
- The trial will evaluate safety, drug behavior, biological effects, and preliminary antitumor activity in adults with advanced solid tumors.
- Arvinas plans to test ARV-6723 alone first and later in combination with pembrolizumab.
Arvinas (NASDAQ:ARVN) dosed the first participant in a Phase 1/2 trial of ARV-6723, an investigational oral immuno-oncology candidate designed to degrade HPK1 in adults with advanced solid tumors.
The global multicenter ARV-6723-101 trial will evaluate the safety, pharmacokinetics, biological effects, and preliminary antitumor activity of ARV-6723.
Arvinas said the study will initially evaluate ARV-6723 as a standalone treatment before expanding into a combination study with pembrolizumab, while preclinical studies showed HPK1 degradation and antitumor activity in laboratory models.
Arvinas develops targeted protein degradation therapies designed to remove disease-related proteins using its proprietary PROTAC technology platform.
The company said ARV-6723 is its first clinical immuno-oncology candidate and that the ongoing trial will determine whether HPK1 degradation can produce antitumor effects in patients.
