  • The valuation gap between Nvidia and Apple narrowed to approximately $190 billion on Wednesday.
  • Reports of an expanded smartphone lineup pushed Apple shares up nearly 5% during daily trading.
  • Nvidia faces cooling near-term sentiment despite delivering $81.6 billion in fiscal first-quarter revenue.

Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) closed within roughly 4% of overtaking Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) as the most valuable company in the United States, driven by fresh product pipeline optimization.

The market capitalization spread between the two technology heavyweights narrowed to about $190 billion on Wednesday, with Nvidia hovering at $4.7 trillion and Apple tracking closely behind at approximately $4.5 trillion.

"Investors are increasingly viewing Apple's disciplined, consumer-centric artificial intelligence capital expenditure strategy as an asset allocation advantage," noted market observers.

The valuation shift comes amid broader capital realignment across the semiconductor and consumer electronics industries.

Following the mid-week market move, the Apple share price closed up at $214.50, while Nvidia faced localized pressure.

The cooling momentum for chip infrastructure developers occurs despite stellar fundamental delivery, including an 85% year-over-year revenue surge to $81.6 billion in Nvidia's fiscal first quarter of 2027.

Meanwhile, Apple benefits from near-term operational visibility ahead of its July 30 financial release, coming off a fiscal second quarter where revenue expanded 17% to $111.2 billion, powered by a 22% jump in global iPhone sales.
