APA Corp. to buy Savant Alaska for $70M to secure North Slope infrastructure
APA Corporation (NASDAQ:APA) announced an agreement to acquire Savant Alaska for approximately $70 million in upfront cash, moving to lock down strategic midstream and field infrastructure on Alaska's eastern North Slope.
The deal, which is subject to customary closing adjustments, also includes additional contingent payments tied to the future development of APA’s acreage in the region.
By absorbing Savant, the Houston-based energy producer secures immediate ownership of vital infrastructure adjacent to its existing footprints.
Executive leadership noted the transaction is expected to increase development flexibility, lower long-term capital costs, and accelerate project timelines for nearby exploration discoveries.
Central to the transaction are the Badami facilities, which hold a nameplate processing capacity of roughly 40,000 barrels of oil per day.
The site features extensive operational support infrastructure, including a grind-and-inject system, barge landing and wharf facilities, an airstrip, gravel resources, and dedicated workforce accommodations.
Furthermore, APA will take over the Nutaaq Pipeline.
The pipeline is capable of moving up to 80,000 barrels of oil per day from the Badami field directly to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS), removing a major logistical hurdle for the company's regional output.
The deal is projected to close by the end of 2026, pending regulatory approvals, after which APA plans to issue updated operational guidance.
