Amentum wins Sellafield contract worth £2.1 billion

• Amentum (NYSE:AMTM) has been selected by Sellafield as preferred supplier for an asset care and asset creation program valued at up to £2.1 billion ($2.78 billion).
• The contract selection provides a long-term opportunity for Amentum, although the formal agreement remains subject to final contractual arrangements.
• The PACE framework will support Sellafield’s spent fuel management and retrieval mission through engineering, procurement, installation and asset care services.

Amentum (NYSE:AMTM) has been selected by United Kingdom nuclear site operator Sellafield as preferred supplier for a Projects and Asset Care Execution (PACE) framework contract valued at up to £2.1 billion ($2.78 billion).

The agreement covers Lot 1 of Sellafield’s PACE framework, which will support spent fuel management and retrieval activities through lifecycle services, compared with previous arrangements focused on individual project delivery needs.

“Sellafield Ltd has selected us and our trusted suppliers because of our record of excellent delivery performance, collaborative behaviors and constant innovation and improvement, driven by application of technologies such as digital visualization and advanced robotics,” said Amentum Chief Executive Officer John Heller.

The PACE framework will include engineering and design, procurement, installation, plant modifications, project management and controls, commissioning, dismantling, removal and ongoing asset care services, with an initial contract duration of nine years and an optional six-year extension.

The Lot 1 contract will be delivered by OneAxIoM, a joint venture between Amentum and Mitie, supported by supply chain partners Assystem and Mott MacDonald, as part of Sellafield’s efforts to maintain nuclear assets.

Sellafield operates the United Kingdom’s largest nuclear site and manages activities related to nuclear decommissioning, spent fuel management and environmental cleanup, while Amentum provides engineering, project management and technical services across government and industrial sectors.
