Allarity secures Japan stenoparib patent

Allarity Therapeutics (NASDAQ:ALLR) received a Japanese patent for its stenoparib-specific DRP companion diagnostic, covering methods to identify patients likely to benefit from stenoparib treatment.

The patent, Japanese Patent No. 7917283, protects the use of tumor gene-expression profiles to select patients through the stenoparib DRP test and extends protection in Japan until 2039.

Allarity said it also holds stenoparib DRP patents in the United States with protection extending into April 2042, along with patents in certain European jurisdictions and Australia, while additional applications remain pending globally.

Allarity said the patent supports development of its precision medicine approach by linking genomic testing with patient selection for stenoparib treatment.

Stenoparib is a dual PARP and tankyrase inhibitor designed to target PARP1/2 and WNT-related tankyrase 1/2 pathways and is being evaluated in oncology studies.

The company is developing stenoparib in Phase 2 for advanced and platinum-resistant ovarian cancer and is also studying the therapy with temozolomide for relapsed small cell lung cancer.
