Alkermes reports ALKS 7290 ADHD trial data

Alkermes (NASDAQ:ALKS) reported positive topline results from a phase 1 proof-of-concept study evaluating ALKS 7290, an investigational orexin 2 receptor agonist being developed for attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
The study evaluated 88 healthy volunteers and 50 adults with ADHD, showing that ALKS 7290 was generally well tolerated and demonstrated dose-dependent improvements in ADHD symptom measures at day 14 of treatment.
In adults with ADHD, ALKS 7290 produced median reductions from baseline in Adult ADHD Investigator Symptom Rating Scale (AISRS) scores of 14 points at the 20 mg dose and 19 points at the 50 mg dose after 14 days.
The phase 1b study also showed improvements in Clinical Global Impression-Severity Scale scores, with median reductions of 1 point for the 20 mg dose and 2.0 points for the 50 mg dose at day 14.
Alkermes is continuing a phase 2 study evaluating the safety and efficacy of ALKS 7290 in approximately 312 adults with ADHD, with results expected in 2027.
