Alibaba revenue expands to RMB269 billion
- Alibaba Group (NYSE:BABA) reported Q2 2026 revenue of RMB268.95 billion, up 9% year-over-year.
- Net income declined 75% to RMB10.44 billion, while operating income fell 57% to RMB15.16 billion.
- The company increased technology investment, with cloud infrastructure spending affecting adjusted EBITA and free cash flow.
Alibaba Group (NYSE:BABA) reported second quarter 2026 revenue of RMB268,953 million, up 9% year-over-year, while net income declined as higher technology investment and other factors reduced profitability.
The results compared with the prior-year period as revenue growth continued, but operating income fell to RMB15,161 million from higher levels due to lower adjusted EBITA, goodwill impairment and a provision recorded during the quarter.
Alibaba reported adjusted EBITA of RMB27,329 million, down 30% year-over-year, while customer management revenue declined 7%, although the company said like-for-like customer management revenue excluding the impact of a new business development programme would have increased 1%.
Net cash provided by operating activities increased 11% year-over-year to RMB22,945 million, while free cash flow was an outflow of RMB44,670 million due mainly to higher cloud infrastructure expenditure.
As of June 30, 2026, Alibaba held RMB474,505 million in cash and other liquid investments, while the company continued investing in cloud computing, e-commerce and technology initiatives across its business segments.
