
Albertsons shares plunge 24% after outlook cut

Albertsons (NYSE:ACI) reported first-quarter fiscal 2026 adjusted EPS of $0.42, missing $0.54 estimates and triggering a sharp share sell-off.
Revenue rose 0.2% to $24.94 billion, above the $24.83 billion estimate, while identical sales declined 0.8%.
Albertsons cut fiscal 2026 adjusted EPS guidance to $1.75–$1.85 and adjusted EBITDA guidance to $3.550–$3.625 billion.
Following the announcement, Albertsons' share price was down 23.7% at $11.14.
The company launched ACI Edge, consolidating 11 divisions into four regions and centralising centre-store merchandising.
Albertsons spent $522.1 million on capital projects, completed 15 remodels, opened four stores and repurchased $226.5 million of shares.
