Adient (NYSE:ADNT), a global leader in automotive seating, announced on Monday, April 27, 2026, the acquisition of a foam production plant in Romulus, Michigan.

The strategic move expands the company’s vertically integrated manufacturing capabilities and strengthens its position within the critical North American automotive hub.

The acquisition includes the facility’s building, land, and specialized manufacturing equipment, along with all existing inventory and related assets.

With this addition, Adient’s production network grows to 10 foam plants across the Americas and a total of 30 foam manufacturing facilities globally.

The Romulus site is expected to serve multiple major automaker customers, providing the foam components essential for high-quality vehicle seating systems.

In a move to ensure operational continuity, Adient confirmed that all current employees at the Romulus facility will transition to become Adient employees.

Furthermore, the company will honor the existing collective bargaining agreement with the United Automobile Workers (UAW), maintaining the established labor framework as the plant integrates into the broader Adient corporate structure.
