
Accel Entertainment expands Louisiana route scale with Rice Palace acquisition
Accel Entertainment (NYSE:ACEL) announced that its subsidiary, Toucan Gaming, has acquired the assets of Rice Palace and South Louisiana Gaming, the owner and operator of the Rice Palace Truck Stop Casino.
The acquisition adds a premier video poker and travel plaza destination to Accel's portfolio, aligning with its corporate strategy of capturing accretive route growth across regional markets.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Located in Crowley, Louisiana, Rice Palace operates a 24-hour business model combining commercial fueling infrastructure, local dining, and dedicated video gaming amenities.
Under the terms of the asset purchase agreement, Toucan Gaming took ownership of the Rice Palace facility, immediately absorbing 50 active Video Gaming Devices (VGDs) into its statewide distribution route.
Accel and Toucan plan to leverage local regulatory allowances to scale the venue’s floor capacity to 60 VGDs in the near term.
The immediate addition of these machines represents an approximate 8% expansion in VGD count relative to the 728 Louisiana route terminals Accel reported in its quarterly financial disclosures as of March 31, 2026.
