8x8 (NASDAQ:EGHT), a global leader in integrated cloud communications, announced on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, that it has acquired Maven Lab, a Singapore-based specialist in mobile marketing and enterprise messaging.

The acquisition is a strategic "step-change" for 8x8, designed to cement its leadership in the high-growth Asia-Pacific (APAC) customer engagement market.

By integrating Maven Lab’s team and its acclaimed Moobidesk platform into the 8x8 Platform for CX, the company is pivoting from traditional messaging toward "orchestrated, omnichannel customer journeys."

Moobidesk offers a unified interface for SMS, WhatsApp, Viber, LINE, and voice, featuring smart AI routing and automated response suggestions that have been shown to increase sales leads by an average of 10% for its enterprise clients.

The move comes as the CPaaS (Communications Platform as a Service) market is projected to grow from $32 billion today to nearly $100 billion by 2030.

With Maven Lab’s deep local carrier relationships and regional expertise, 8x8 is now uniquely positioned to support mission-critical, high-volume communications for the finance, healthcare, and logistics sectors across Southeast Asia.
