3M reports second-quarter sales of $6.5 billion

3M Company (NYSE:MMM) posted GAAP sales of $6.5 billion and adjusted sales of $6.5 billion for the second quarter of 2026.

The industrial conglomerate delivered a GAAP earnings per share of $1.78, up 33 percent, while adjusted EPS rose 11 percent to $2.40.

The company generated $1 billion in operating cash flow and $1.3 billion in adjusted free cash flow, returning $1.4 billion to shareholders via dividends and share buybacks.

Following the announcement, 3M Company's share price rose 6.28 percent in pre-market trading to $159.84.

The quarter also featured several commercial milestones, including the launch of the Ask 3M AI assistant and advanced infrastructure partnerships.

Corporate leadership noted that the updated full-year guidance does not yet reflect the Madison Fire & Rescue acquisition, which officially closed on July 1, 2026.
