ZKsync has announced five security measures for EraVM chains before their planned retirement within six months.

The changes include extending execution delays from three hours to 24 hours, giving operators more time to respond to threats.

ZKsync also plans to add independent second nodes that can check executed batches on active EraVM chains.

The project will delay public releases of covered Era protocol code for three months after upgrades, while auditors can still access the code.

The Token Assembly approved GAP-5 on August 24, changing the term Emergency Upgrades to Instant Upgrades without changing existing controls.

ZKsync is also developing EraBender, a second proving system designed to work alongside Boojum, but it still requires testing and audits.

ZKsync says regular wallet funds need no action now, while users with assets in smart contracts will receive migration instructions later.
