Yellow Card raised US$40 million in strategic equity funding to expand its stablecoin payment infrastructure for banks and businesses.

“The very near future state for this industry is one where payments flow directly between banks onchain,” said Yellow Card CEO Chris Maurice.

SC Ventures, Sony Innovation Fund, Polychain Capital and Blockchain Capital participated in the latest funding round.

Yellow Card said it will expand Global USD Accounts and add stablecoin and local payment options in Latin America and Asia-Pacific.

Global USD Accounts supports dollar holdings, stablecoin swaps and local currency payments through domestic networks in more than 50 countries.

Yellow Card has processed more than US$10 billion since 2016 and holds licences, authorisations or registrations across 22 jurisdictions.
