The current compression pattern resembles the technical setup that preceded XRP's major rally from a long-standing accumulation range to approximately US$3.30 by January 2025, following a breakout in November 2024 after roughly 16 months of sideways movement between US$0.45 and US$0.75.
A subsequent symmetrical triangle formation that developed between US$3.30 and support near US$1.90 to US$2.00 also eventually broke higher in mid-2025, leading to the July 2025 peak of US$3.60.
The critical near-term technical signal to watch is a confirmed daily candle close above the channel's upper trendline, which currently sits at approximately US$1.10.
Should XRP (CRYPTO:XRP) achieve a confirmed breakout above US$1.10, the first significant resistance zone is identified between US$1.50 and US$1.60, an area that acted as support throughout late 2025 before the channel drove prices lower.
A sustained move above the US$1.50 to US$1.60 zone would place US$2.00 as the next major level, which served as the foundation for the mid-2025 rally to US$3.60 and remains a historically significant turning point on the chart.
From the current price of US$1.0801, a recovery to US$2.00 would represent a gain of approximately 85%, with further resistance levels noted at US$2.50 and US$3.00 on any continued recovery attempt towards the July 2025 high.
With the price and resistance now compressed to minimal separation, analysts note that a decisive move in either direction — breakout or rejection — may occur within the near term.
At the time of reporting, XRP price was $1.08.
