Garlinghouse puts XRP at Ripple core
Ripple chief executive Brad Garlinghouse declared XRP the company’s strategic “North Star”, outlining a plan to position the token at the centre of its global financial infrastructure ambitions.
Speaking at XRP Community Day, Garlinghouse said Ripple’s expanding suite of institutional products is designed to increase liquidity, utility and trust around XRP and the XRP Ledger.
“I want every single person in the XRP family, the XRP Army, to know that XRP is the North Star for Ripple. It’s our purpose,”
Garlinghouse said.
He added that initiatives including Ripple Payments, Ripple Prime, custody services and the RLUSD stablecoin are structured to drive velocity and real-world adoption of XRP across institutional markets.
“These are all examples of where we are going — to continue to make sure, as we think about Ripple as a platform company for financial infrastructure, that XRP is at the heartbeat of that,”
Garlinghouse explained.
Garlinghouse said Ripple’s broader mission is inseparable from the success of the XRP ecosystem, emphasising product development, ledger enhancements and strategic investments to strengthen network effects.
“There will be a trillion-dollar crypto company,”
He said, adding that Ripple has the opportunity, if execution aligns with ecosystem growth, to become one of those firms as institutional adoption accelerates.
At the time of reporting, XRP price was $1.47.
