Wallets linked to Wintermute moved about 5,100 Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC), worth roughly $399 million, to Binance over 48 hours.
The transfers were flagged by blockchain tracker Onchain Lens during a period of higher crypto market volatility.
No sale has been confirmed, and Wintermute has not publicly stated why the wallets moved the Bitcoin.
The transfers involved several transactions, ranging from a few hundred Bitcoin to more than 1,000 Bitcoin each.
Large exchange deposits can signal selling pressure, but market makers also move funds for liquidity, arbitrage and OTC settlement.
Wintermute has made large asset transfers before, including Ethereum movements in early 2024 that were later linked to inventory management.
Wintermute is privately held, so no public share price was available following the transfers, while traders will watch further on-chain activity for clearer signals.
