Western Union launches Stablecard in 37 markets

Western Union launched Stablecard across 37 markets, allowing users to receive, hold and spend USDPT (CRYPTO:USDPT).

The digital wallet and Visa-branded card lets users receive Western Union transfers directly into a USDPT wallet.

Western Union said USDPT is issued by Anchorage Digital Bank on Solana (CRYPTO:SOL) and backed by the US dollar.

Users can transfer USDPT to compatible crypto wallets and exchanges or spend balances anywhere Visa is accepted.

Western Union said it aims to expand Stablecard availability from 37 markets to more than 60 by year-end.

Western Union unveiled USDPT in May as part of its broader digital asset strategy and expanded exchange access through Bybit in June.

Rival MoneyGram recently launched MGUSD (CRYPTO:MGUSD) on Stellar (CRYPTO:XLM), reflecting broader stablecoin adoption among remittance providers.
