Ukrainian police have shut down a crypto scam network that allegedly targeted users in more than 20 countries.

Investigators have identified 62 victims, while Ukraine’s Security Service said the operation could have generated $1 million a month.

The fake platforms displayed false investment gains before asking users to connect their crypto wallets and approve small transactions.

Authorities said hidden wallet-draining software then moved users’ funds to wallets controlled by the alleged operators.

Investigators said more than 46 Ukrainians were involved, while victims were identified in Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Spain, France, the UK, Canada and Israel.

Ukrainian police and the Security Service carried out 34 searches, seizing more than 100 computers, more than 100 phones, 79 SIM cards, documents, cash and 15 vehicles.

The investigation remains open as authorities identify more victims, investigate other alleged participants and determine how much cryptocurrency the network allegedly stole.
