DJT shares rose approximately 48% from their 26 June 2026 all-time low of US$6.96, closing at US$10.38 on 30 July 2026, with analysts noting the rally tracked the Truth API announcement more closely than it tracked Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) price movements.
On-chain analytics firm Lookonchain reported that wallets linked to Trump Media transferred 2,628 Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) — worth approximately US$165 million — to Crypto.com over the 1–2 August weekend, with total identified disposals since the treasury programme began placed at 7,281 BTC worth approximately US$545 million at an average sale price of US$74,855.
A Trump Media spokesperson stated the Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) was "transferred, but not sold," offering the same explanation as a similar move in May 2026, though on-chain data confirmed the transfer without confirming a disposal.
Trump Media reported a net loss of US$405.9 million for Q1 2026, of which US$243.96 million was recorded as unrealised losses on digital assets and pledged collateral, according to the company's 10-Q filing.
The company originally raised US$2.5 billion — comprising US$1.5 billion in equity and US$1 billion in convertible notes — to purchase 11,542 Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) at an average price of US$118,522 per coin, a strategy modelled on Michael Saylor's approach at Strategy.
Approximately 4,261 BTC remaining in Trump Media's tagged wallets closely matches the 4,260.73 BTC disclosed as collateral pledged against convertible notes in the Q1 10-Q filing, with restrictions on that collateral lifting no earlier than the notes' May 2028 maturity date.
Democratic members of Congress, including Representative Ritchie Torres and Senators Elizabeth Warren and Adam Schiff, have written to SEC Chair Paul Atkins raising concerns that Truth API may constitute an insider-trading, market-manipulation, or broker-dealer violation, given that Trump holds approximately 41.4% of Trump Media through the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust.
The SEC confirmed receipt of both congressional letters but had not issued a substantive response as of one week after the Truth API launch, while Trump Media's general counsel rejected the insider-trading characterisation, arguing the service accelerates delivery of information already in the public domain.
At the time of reporting, Bitcoin price was $64,626.20.
