Trump signals US exit from Iran within weeks

US President Donald Trump said the United States could end its military campaign in Iran within two to three weeks, citing progress toward eliminating Tehran’s nuclear capabilities.

Trump told reporters at the White House that the operation had largely achieved its objective, adding there was “no reason for us to do this” beyond finishing remaining targets.

“I had one goal: They will have no nuclear weapons, and that goal has been attained,”

The conflict escalated after US and Israeli strikes in February triggered an Iranian blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil shipping route, sending energy prices higher and pressuring financial markets.

Trump said a withdrawal would not depend on reopening the Strait or reaching a deal with Iranian leadership, claiming the country’s military capacity had been significantly weakened.

Despite that, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth warned Iran still retains offensive missile capabilities, highlighting ongoing risks in the region.

Markets showed signs of recovery, with Bitcoin rising about 1.6% to around $67,858 and Ether gaining 3.5%, while the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 2.91% and 2.49% r espectively.
