Trezor adds native stablecoin yield through Morpho
The feature is powered by an integration with Morpho, an Ethereum-based decentralised lending protocol, and enables users to deposit stablecoins into selected lending vaults without connecting external wallets or interacting with separate DeFi platforms.
According to Trezor, deposits, withdrawals and reward claims are signed directly through users’ hardware wallets using the company’s clear-signing interface, which displays transaction details in a human-readable format on device screens.
At launch, Trezor selected the USDC Prime and USDT Prime vaults curated by Steakhouse Financial, with yields generated through borrowing demand on Morpho rather than token incentive programmes.
The integration is part of a broader industry trend in which crypto wallet providers are embedding decentralised finance services directly into custody products to simplify user access and reduce operational complexity.
Trezor is one of the largest hardware wallet providers in the cryptocurrency industry and is widely regarded as the second-largest player behind Ledger, which already offers native stablecoin yield products through Ledger Live.
The launch comes as stablecoin yield strategies continue gaining popularity across decentralised finance, although critics, including Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, have warned that many yield-generating stablecoin products remain dependent on centralised issuers and carry counterparty and smart contract risks.
At the time of reporting, Ethereum price was $2,006.27.
