Toyosa adds Bitcoin for Toyota purchases

• Toyosa has started accepting Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) for Toyota vehicle purchases in Bolivia.
• The payment option adds BTC to existing payments in bolivianos, US dollars and Tether (CRYPTO:USDT).
• Towerbank is handling transaction processing, while BitGo is providing wallet infrastructure, security and transaction traceability.

Toyosa has started accepting Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) for Toyota vehicle purchases in Bolivia, expanding its digital-asset payment options beyond USDT.

Customers can now choose BTC alongside bolivianos, US dollars and Tether (CRYPTO:USDT), with the service unveiled at Expocruz 2026 in Santa Cruz on September 18.

“From the silver of Potosí to Bitcoin: Bolivia is once again at the forefront of the history of money,” said Toyosa Group Director of Artificial Intelligence Edwin R. Saavedra.

Towerbank is providing transaction processing and digital-asset support, while BitGo Bank & Trust is supplying the wallet infrastructure used for Bitcoin payments.

Toyosa launched USDT payments in September 2025, allowing customers to buy vehicles, parts and services with the stablecoin through infrastructure provided by BitGo, Towerbank and Tether.

Bolivia authorised electronic payment channels for virtual-asset transactions in June 2024, while the Banco Central de Bolivia has confirmed that the boliviano remains the country's only legal tender.

Toyosa has not disclosed Bitcoin sales volumes, transaction fees, minimum purchase amounts or whether it keeps BTC after receiving vehicle payments, leaving the settlement structure undisclosed.
