Tether, the issuer of Tether (CRYPTO:USDT), completed its first full financial audit and received an unqualified opinion from KPMG.
The audit covered Tether’s financial statements and marked a shift from the company’s previous assurance reporting.
Tether said the audit confirms that its financial statements were presented fairly in accordance with the applicable reporting framework.
The company said the audit involved a full review of its reserves, assets and liabilities under KPMG’s audit procedures.
Tether said the audit could strengthen transparency and support its engagement with regulators and institutional partners.
The company has previously published quarterly reserve reports and assurance opinions on the assets backing USDT.
USDT remains the world’s largest stablecoin by market value and is widely used across cryptocurrency trading, payments and digital asset markets.
