Stellar trades at $0.18 before DTCC catalyst
- Stellar (CRYPTO:XLM) is trading near US$0.18 despite stronger network activity and a planned integration with the DTCC's tokenisation platform.
- The DTCC said it plans to connect its tokenisation service to Stellar, with XLM designated as the settlement token and live assets targeted for the first half of 2027.
- Analysts remain divided on XLM's outlook, with forecasts ranging from about US$0.18 to as high as US$2.50 by the end of 2026 depending on whether institutional adoption translates into token demand.
Stellar (CRYPTO:XLM) is trading near US$0.18 after the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) announced plans to connect its tokenisation platform to the Stellar network, with XLM designated as the settlement token from the first half of 2027.
The announcement comes as XLM remains well below its July 2025 high of about US$0.52, despite tokenised real-world assets on Stellar exceeding US$2.83 billion, stablecoin payment volume reaching about US$5.5 billion, and broader market sentiment remaining in extreme fear.
The DTCC said the integration will connect its tokenisation service to Stellar, while live assets are targeted for the first half of 2027 and XLM will serve as the settlement token for the platform.
The long implementation timeline means any price gains before 2027 are likely to depend on investor sentiment rather than transaction volume, while the extent to which securities settlement generates sustained demand for XLM remains uncertain because the token has a fixed supply but no burn mechanism.
Analysts have published year-end 2026 forecasts ranging from about US$0.18 in bearish models to between US$1.20 and US$2.50 in more optimistic scenarios, and there was no immediate market reaction following the announcement.
Additional developments supporting Stellar's institutional strategy include its digital commodity designation, expectations for regulated derivatives products, growth in tokenised assets and stablecoins, and continued expansion of the Soroban smart contract platform.
The DTCC integration represents a significant institutional milestone for the Stellar network, but whether it produces lasting value for Stellar (CRYPTO:XLM) will depend on how much settlement activity ultimately creates sustained demand for the token.
At the time of reporting, Stellar price was $0.1744.
