
Standard Chartered launches UAE crypto trading
- Standard Chartered has launched Bitcoin and Ether spot trading for institutions in the UAE.
- The service is offered through its DFSA-regulated DIFC business.
- The launch expands Standard Chartered’s existing crypto custody and trading services.
Standard Chartered has launched Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) and Ether (CRYPTO:ETH) spot trading for institutions in the UAE.
The service lets eligible clients trade deliverable Bitcoin and Ether against the US dollar.
Standard Chartered said it is the first global systemically important bank to offer this service in the UAE.
The service operates through Standard Chartered DIFC, which is regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority.
Clients can trade through the bank’s existing electronic platforms and use their preferred custodian.
The launch follows Standard Chartered’s July 2025 introduction of institutional Bitcoin and Ether trading through its UK branch.
Standard Chartered also launched digital asset custody in the UAE in September 2024, expanding its services for institutional clients.
At the time of reporting, Bitcoin price was $81,230.13.
