  • Standard Chartered is advancing its digital asset custody offering in Singapore for institutional and eligible corporate clients.
  • The service covers selected cryptocurrencies, stablecoins and tokenised real-world assets, subject to regulatory requirements.
  • The move extends the bank’s digital asset services into Singapore’s regulated financial market.

Standard Chartered PLC (LSE:STAN; HKEX:2888) plans to offer digital asset custody in Singapore for institutional and eligible corporate clients.

The planned service will cover selected cryptocurrencies, stablecoins and tokenised real-world assets, subject to regulatory requirements.

“Singapore is an important centre for financial innovation, with a strong institutional ecosystem and growing demand for trusted digital asset solutions,” said Standard Chartered Singapore and ASEAN & South Asia Chief Executive Patrick Lee in a statement.

The bank is responding to demand for regulated services that safeguard digital assets for institutional and corporate clients.

“Secure and regulated custody is a critical foundation of the digital asset ecosystem,” said Standard Chartered Global Head of Transaction Services & Digital Assets Ole Matthiessen in a statement.

The Singapore offering will complement the bank’s Financing & Securities Services business, connecting traditional asset servicing with tokenisation and digital asset custody.

The planned launch extends Standard Chartered’s custody footprint across financial centres including the UAE, Luxembourg and Hong Kong.

The expansion positions Singapore as another market in Standard Chartered’s strategy to provide regulated digital asset custody across its international network.
