South Koreans used 148.5 billion won from crypto sales in 1,688 home purchases between February and July 2026.

The figures cover purchases recorded after the government added crypto sale proceeds to funding forms on 10 February.

Apartments accounted for 133.1 billion won, or 89.6% of the total amount used.

The average crypto proceeds used per purchase were about 87.1 million won, or roughly US$63,000.

Buyers in their 30s and 40s accounted for 89.8% of purchases and 88.9% of the total funds.

The data comes from South Korea’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and covers transactions through the end of July.

The figures show crypto proceeds are being used alongside other funding sources, but they do not show buyers’ total wealth or crypto holdings.
