South Korean financial officials met representatives from the Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH) Foundation and Optimism (CRYPTO:OP) in Seoul to discuss blockchain policy and the country's digital asset strategy.
The meeting comes as South Korea reviews its cryptocurrency regulations and explores ways to support blockchain innovation while protecting investors.
"We welcome continued dialogue between policymakers and the blockchain industry," a representative at the meeting said.
Officials and industry representatives discussed blockchain infrastructure, digital asset regulation and the role of public blockchain networks in the country's financial system.
The discussions are expected to continue as South Korea develops its digital asset framework, while no share price reaction was available because the announcement did not involve a publicly listed company.
The Ethereum Foundation supports the development of Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH), while Optimism develops Layer 2 technology designed to improve transaction speed and reduce network costs.
