SharpLink purchased 5,000 Ether (CRYPTO:ETH) worth about US$7.85 million as the cryptocurrency fell to around US$1,537, its lowest price of 2026.
The acquisition is SharpLink's first Ether purchase since October 2025, when the company acquired approximately US$78.3 million of ETH, signalling a return to its accumulation strategy after an eight-month pause.
In May, SharpLink Chief Executive Officer Joseph Chalom said three factors could support Ether prices, including progress on US crypto legislation, improving investor risk appetite and continued growth in tokenised real-world assets.
The latest purchase increases the company's holdings to 876,285 ETH and ETH equivalents, accumulated through direct purchases and staking rewards, although it remains behind Bitmine, which holds about 5.67 million ETH.
SharpLink is also scheduled to join the Russell 2000 and Russell 3000 indexes, with the company previously stating that inclusion could broaden its shareholder base and improve access to capital markets.
Founded in 2019 as an affiliate marketing company for the sports betting industry, SharpLink shifted to an Ethereum treasury strategy in June 2025 after appointing Consensys co-founder Joe Lubin as chairman.
The purchase comes as tokenised real-world assets continue expanding and lawmakers in the United States consider further cryptocurrency legislation, developments that Chalom previously identified as potential drivers of Ether adoption.
At the time of reporting, Ethereum price was $1,552.07.
