JAN3 CEO Samson Mow outlined five steps for Coldcard users affected by a random number generator vulnerability disclosed in the hardware wallet.

His advice includes documenting wallet details, filing police reports and watching coordinated efforts to track stolen Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC).

“The COLDCARD RNG vulnerability may be worse than an exchange hack,” said JAN3 CEO Samson Mow.

Mow also urged victims to preserve affected devices, seed phrases and PINs, which could later help prove ownership.

He warned users not to share personal information or pay anyone claiming they can recover stolen Bitcoin.

Mow recommended multi-vendor multisignature wallets to reduce reliance on one hardware provider and limit single points of failure.

Coldcard maker Coinkite advised affected users to update their firmware and move funds if vulnerable versions generated their seeds.
