Arkham Intelligence said the City of Roswell holds roughly 0.173 Bitcoin in an onchain wallet tied to the municipality.

The blockchain analytics firm said the wallet received the Bitcoin as donations in 2025 and that the funds have remained untouched in a single address since arrival.

“Has the first extraterrestrial BTC stash been found?”

Arkham said in a social media post referencing Roswell’s long-running association with UFO folklore.

According to Arkham, the wallet held approximately $13,300 worth of Bitcoin at the time the company identified the address through its intelligence platform.

Roswell has not publicly commented on who sent the Bitcoin donations or whether the municipality plans to use the funds, while the holdings have not appeared in public budget documents.

The New Mexico town, home to roughly 48,000 residents, is internationally known for the 1947 Roswell UFO incident after military officials briefly described recovered debris as a “flying disc” before later attributing it to a weather balloon.

Arkham said Roswell joins a small group of US municipalities linked to cryptocurrency activity, although the city’s Bitcoin holdings remain minimal compared with the estimated $24 billion in Bitcoin currently controlled by the US government through forfeiture-related reserves.

At the time of reporting, Bitcoin price was $73,213.06.
