Ripple eyes $1T valuation
Brad Garlinghouse said he believes a crypto company will eventually reach a $1 trillion valuation and argued that Ripple has the opportunity to be that firm.
Speaking during XRP Community Day on X, Garlinghouse said Ripple’s recent $500 million funding round, which valued the company at about $40 billion, underscores its growth trajectory despite broader market volatility.
“There will be a trillion-dollar crypto company, I don’t doubt that for a second,”
Said Garlinghouse, adding:
“I think Ripple has the opportunity, if we do things well in partnership with the overall XRP ecosystem, to be that company.”
Garlinghouse emphasised that XRP remains Ripple’s “north star” and its “reason for existence,” stating that the firm’s products and services are built in service of the broader XRP ecosystem.
The company expanded aggressively last year with acquisitions including Hidden Road for $1.25 billion and GTreasury for $1 billion, alongside other deals, though Garlinghouse said 2026 will focus more on integration than major new purchases, and following the announcement the XRP price was down 1.7% at $1.38.
He urged investors to look beyond recent drawdowns that saw XRP and Bitcoin fall sharply over the past month, arguing that the opportunity to modernise global financial infrastructure remains substantial.
Launched in 2012, the XRP Ledger underpins Ripple’s strategy, positioning the firm at the centre of efforts to scale blockchain-based financial services to institutional and global markets.
At the time of reporting, XRP price was $1.38.
